Exports by country
The Czech Republic was the main exporting country with an export of around 79,000 tons, which reached 33% of the total volume. Germany (26,000 tonnes) accounted for 11% of total exports, which places it in second place, followed by Belgium (10%), Latvia (8.5%), Hungary (7.7 %) and Italy (4.6%). The following exporters – France (11K tons), Slovakia (9.2K tons), Austria (6.6K tons), Poland (6.4K tons), Spain (6K tons), Croatia (5.7K tons) and the Netherlands (4.2K tonnes) – together accounted for 21% of total supplies.
In terms of value, the main countries supplying fiberglass fabrics to the European Union were the Czech Republic ($266 million), Germany ($244 million) and Belgium ($141 million), with a combined share of 51% of total exports. These countries were followed by France, Italy, Latvia, Spain, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Slovakia and Croatia, which together accounted for an additional 44%.
Croatia, with a CAGR of +16.9%, recorded the highest growth rate in export value among major exporting countries over the past decade. Deliveries from the other leaders experienced more modest growth rates.

In 2021, the export price to the European Union was $5,420 per ton, up 5% from the previous year. Prices varied significantly by country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($12,440 per ton), while Slovakia ($2,906 per ton) was among the lowest. From 2011 to 2021, the most notable growth rate in terms of prices was achieved by Spain (+6.0%), while the other leaders experienced more modest growth rates.
Imports of fiberglass fabrics from the EU
In 2021, approx. 274K tonnes of fiberglass fabrics were imported into the European Union; up 16% over the previous year. The total volume of imports increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% over the period 2011-2021.

In 2021, Germany (56K tons), followed far behind by Italy (33K tons), Poland (31K tons), France (21K tons), Spain (21K tons), Hungary (15K tons ), Romania (14K tons) and Austria (12K tons) were the largest importers of fiberglass fabrics, together creating 74% of the total volume. Slovakia (9.2K tons), the Netherlands (9.2K tons), Belgium (8K tons), the Czech Republic (6.9K tons) and Portugal (6.1K tons) occupied a small share of total imports.
By value, Germany ($282 million) is the largest market for fiberglass fabrics imported into the European Union, accounting for 23% of total purchases. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Italy (121 million dollars), with a share of 10% of total imports. It was followed by France, with a share of 9.7%.
